💨 Abstract

Since Wednesday, six parishes in southern Quito, Ecuador, have been without clean water due to a landslide that damaged a key water pipeline. The outage is expected to last through the rest of the week. Mayor Pabel Muñoz reported that 120,000 cubic meters of earth have been cleared, with 60 water tankers distributing water. The emergency affects 13% of Quito's population.
