💨 Abstract

President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held an informal, nearly hour-long phone conversation. They discussed Ukraine, Iran, and the broader Middle East crisis. Putin emphasized his preference for a diplomatic and political solution for the Middle East, while Trump suggested ending military actions in Ukraine soon. Putin, however, stated that Russia won't back down from its war objectives in Ukraine, wishing it wouldn't have expanded NATO. The leaders agreed to continue communicating and did not discuss the U.S.
