💨 Abstract

On December 13, 2025, the Indiana Senate voted against a new congressional map backed by former President Donald Trump, marking a significant rebellion within the Republican Party. Despite Trump's pressure and threats, a majority of Republican senators voted against his proposal, potentially ending his redistricting efforts. Additionally, Trump faced setbacks in other areas: the Department of Justice failed to secure charges against New York Attorney General Letitia James, and key Republicans opposed his attacks on Democrats.
