💨 Abstract
LLoyd Howell, the executive director of the NFL Players Association (NFLPA), has resigned, citing that his leadership had become a distraction. Howell faced scrutiny for holding a consulting job with the Carlyle Group, a private equity firm. Additionally, there were allegations regarding a confidentiality agreement over an arbitrator’s ruling on possible collusion by NFL owners and a 2011 lawsuit involving sexual discrimination and retaliation. Howell noted pride in accomplishments but stated to putting more focus on the players.
