💨 Abstract

The article reports on a significant change in the qualification system for the 2028 European Championship, approved by UEFA’s Executive Committee. Host nations England, Wales, Ireland, and Scotland will participate in the qualifying rounds, with winners and the best runners-up advancing to the final tournament. The remaining spots will be filled through playoffs involving other runners-up and high-ranked teams from the 2026-27 Nations League. This decision was made ahead of the Europa League final.
