Kerry Carpenter of the Detroit Tigers hit three home runs, driving in five runs, as the team defeated the Chicago White Sox 13-1. Parker Meadows returned with two hits and three runs scored. Jack Flaherty pitched six strong innings. Detroit won its 11th straight game at Chicago's ballpark and improved to 40 wins for the season. The White Sox had five hits, managed a single run and suffered their seventh loss in eight games.
