💨 Abstract
Former Red Sox pitcher Mike Timlin will ride in the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) this summer to honor his late teammate and friend Tim Wakefield, who died of brain cancer in 2023. The PMC is a major fundraiser for cancer research, aiming to raise $76 million this year. Timlin and Wakefield shared a close bond, both on and off the field, and Timlin hopes to continue Wakefield's legacy of community involvement and charity.
