Gennaro Gattuso, known for his robust midfield play, has been appointed as Italy's new coach, replacing Luciano Spalletti. Gattuso must revive Italy's World Cup qualifying hopes, as they currently trail Norway by nine points. Gattuso, who won the World Cup with Italy in 2006, returns to the national team with significant coaching experience at AC Milan, Napoli, Valencia, and Marseille.
