💨 Abstract
The NHL and NHL Players’ Association are nearing an agreement to extend their collective bargaining agreement. Negotiations, ongoing since April, could result in a memorandum of understanding over a year before the current CBA expires. Key changes may include an 84-game regular season and a playoff salary cap. The extension aims to prevent work stoppages, like the 2004-05 lockout. An announcement is expected in Los Angeles before the draft.
