AC Milan started their season with a 2-0 win over Bari in the Italian Cup, despite Rafael Leão possibly sustaining a calf injury. Christian Pulisic scored both goals, including a late finish assisted by Santiago Gimenez. Luka Modric made his Milan debut. Coach Massimiliano Allegri is suspended for two games following a previous outburst. Last season's eighth-place finish forced Milan into early rounds of the Cup.
