The New York Mets defeated the San Francisco Giants 12-6. Pete Alonso hit his 250th career homer, and Francisco Lindor drove in four runs. Brandon Nimmo also contributed significantly with three RBIs. The Mets, who moved a half-game ahead of Philadelphia in the NL East, ended a four-game losing streak. Right-hander Kodai Senga allowed four runs in four innings, while Tyler Rogers made his Mets debut. The teams will play again Sunday.
