💨 Abstract
A 67-year-old man, Harrison, was found guilty of the 1986 rape and murder of DEA agent's wife Jacqueline Lard, and the 1989 murder of teenager Amy Baker in Stafford County. Advances in forensic genetic genealogy, led by Stafford Detective D.K. Wood, identified Harrison using DNA evidence collected decades ago. Harrison faces sentencing in October. The breakthrough brought closure to the families after nearly four decades of uncertainty.
