💨 Abstract
In Indian-controlled Kashmir, three suspected militants were killed in a gunfight with government forces. This is the first such incident since an April 22 massacre that left 26 tourists dead. India blamed Pakistan for the massacre, which Pakistan denied. The conflict in Kashmir dates back to 1989, with many Muslim Kashmiris seeking union with Pakistan or independence.
