💨 Abstract

In Nepal, tens of thousands of protesters demanded the restoration of the monarchy and Hinduism as the state religion. They marched in Kathmandu, while supporters of Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli celebrated Republic Day nearby. Riot police maintained order to prevent clashes. The pro-monarchy group aims to reinstate former King Gyanendra, citing corruption and failed governance by current political parties. Despite growing support, the former king's immediate return to power is unlikely.
