💨 Abstract
In May 2025, the International Criminal Court (ICC) faces severe challenges due to U.S. sanctions imposed by President Donald Trump. The sanctions target ICC chief prosecutor Karim Khan after the court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister. The sanctions have frozen Khan’s bank accounts, canceled his email, and prevented U.S. staff from traveling home.
