💨 Abstract
Brazilian archaeologist Niède Guidon, who discovered prehistoric cave paintings in northeastern Brazil challenging traditional theories on human presence in the Americas, died at 92. Guidon's work, particularly her findings in Piaui, dating human activity back over 48,000 years, refuted the Bering Strait migration theory, suggesting an earlier arrival from Africa.
