💨 Abstract
Pakistan's ongoing polio elimination efforts faced a setback with the discovery of a new case in the northern Gilgit-Baltistan region after a seven-year hiatus. This brings the total to 11 cases since January, despite multiple vaccination campaigns. The country, along with Afghanistan, is the last stronghold for the wild poliovirus. The new case occurred after a nationwide vaccination drive, casting doubt on the campaign's effectiveness.
