💨 Abstract
Honduras and Guatemala have signed agreements with the U.S. to accept refugees from other countries, expanding efforts to provide the U.S. flexibility in deportations. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem described this as offering asylum-seekers options beyond the U.S. The agreements aim to reduce the number of asylum seekers entering the U.S. by redirecting them to third countries deemed safe.
