💨 Abstract
Tropical Storm Gil formed in the eastern Pacific Ocean on July 31, 2025, with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph moving west at 15 mph. It is not expected to affect land and is forecast to become a hurricane by Friday. The storm is roughly 785 miles south-southwest of Mexico's Baja California peninsula and is anticipated to turn west-northwest in the coming days. There are no coastal watches or warnings currently in effect.
