💨 Abstract
Afghanistan is facing severe child malnutrition and food insecurity, with 10 million people—a quarter of the population—affected. The World Food Program (WFP) attributes this to reduced emergency food assistance due to declining donor support, notably a cut by the Trump administration. Worsening climate conditions are also impacting rural communities. The WFP urgently needs $539 million to support vulnerable families and handle the influx of returnees from neighboring countries.
