💨 Abstract
In 2025, a Guatemala judge convicted 6 former officials for the 2017 deaths of 41 girls in a fire at a state-run facility. The incident occurred at a home for orphans called "Hogar Seguro".The fire was ignited by the girls themselves, who were trying to escape the abuses they suffered at the facility.
