💨 Abstract
In Guatemala, a judge convicted six former government employees in the 2017 "Hogar Seguro" fire that killed 41 girls. Sentences ranged from 6 to 25 years for crimes including manslaughter and abuse of authority. The judge also ordered an investigation of former President Jimmy Morales. The fire occurred when a girl set a mattress ablaze after being locked in a room for hours without bathroom access.
