💨 Abstract

In Haiti, Nenel Cassy, a former senator and designated corrupt actor by the U.S., was arrested for alleged involvement in state conspiracy and financing criminal gangs. He is accused of supporting gang members who attacked the previously peaceful neighborhood of Kenscoff, resulting in deaths. The U.N. reports gang control over 90% of Haiti’s capital and blame them for up to 5,600 deaths in 2024.
