💨 Abstract
In Ivory Coast, the African Peoples’ Party–Côte d’Ivoire accused the government of making "arbitrary arrests" of six members following the disqualification of several opposition candidates, including former President Laurent Gbagbo, ahead of the October presidential election. Sébastien Dano Djédjé alleged that the six members were taken without notice overnight. The Interior Minister responded, releasing a video showing one of the arrested confessing to a recent bus attack and denying allegations of arbitrary arrests.
