💨 Abstract

In Ecuador, a nightclub shooting in Santa Lucía, Guayas province, killed eight people and injured three. The heavily armed suspects arrived on motorcycles and vehicles. This incident follows another shooting near El Oro province, where four people died and several are missing. The violence is attributed to disputes among organized crime groups linked to drug cartels. Over 4,600 killings have occurred in Ecuador this year, with a state of emergency in four coastal provinces.
