💨 Abstract
The U.N. refugee agency in Lebanon anticipates that the U.S. lifting of sanctions on Syria may encourage more refugees to return. Around 400,000 Syrians have already returned to Syria from Lebanon since the fall of President Bashar Assad, with about 1 million still in Lebanon. However, many returnees face destroyed homes and limited job opportunities. The U.N. emphasizes the need for significant international investment for reconstruction and job creation.
