💨 Abstract
President Trump ordered his administration to expedite the reclassification of marijuana as a less dangerous drug. This move, while not legalizing marijuana federally, could make the industry more profitable, ease medical research, and align federal policy with many states' more tolerant approaches. Currently, marijuana is a Schedule I drug, alongside heroin and LSD, but Trump proposes moving it to Schedule III, like ketamine.
