💨 Abstract
In Weston, Florida, a video emerged of an American alligator apparently eating a fallen mango. Experts suggest the alligator mistook the fruit for a small, dead animal. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission notes that alligators are opportunistic feeders, primarily consuming meat. Ron Magill, from the Miami Zoo, proposes that the alligator's behavior might be due to human feeding, cautioning that alligators can ingest a wide variety of non-food items.
