💨 Abstract
As of July 14, 2025, the U.S. will impose nearly 21% tariffs on most Mexican tomato imports, potentially driving up prices. This move follows the U.S. withdrawal from a 2019 bilateral agreement that suspended anti-dumping investigations. The U.S. Department of Commerce argues the agreement failed to protect American tomato producers from unfair Mexican pricing. Negotiations continue between the U.S.
