The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for Washington DC and surrounding counties in Virginia and Maryland on Thursday. Temperatures are expected to average 95°F, with a heat index up to 105°F. The advisory is in effect until 8 PM. Humidity may cause some rain and thunderstorms in the late afternoon. Less rain is expected compared to the previous day. Officials advise residents to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and avoid outdoor activities.
