💨 Abstract
The UK aviation industry is preparing for a significant overhaul with the redesign of flight paths, a first since the 1950s. This modernization aims to speed up flights, reduce delays, and lower emissions by introducing more direct routes and increasing flight capacity. The changes will also accommodate emerging services like flying taxis and prepare for Heathrow's third runway. The new UK Airspace Design Service, operational by 2025, will prioritize Heathrow and London airspace.
