💨 Abstract
An AI company, Artisan, sparked controversy with its London Underground ad campaign suggesting businesses "hire artisans, not humans." The campaign, which also ran in San Francisco, faced severe backlash, including death threats to the CEO, Jaspar Carmichael-Jack. Despite the criticism, the CEO defended the campaign as a strategy to grab attention. He clarified that the real goal is to automate mundane tasks, not to replace humans entirely, and to make jobs more human-focused.
