💨 Abstract

A heat dome is causing a massive heatwave, affecting over 30 U.S. states and over 100 million people. This weather phenomenon, which is a high-pressure system trapping hot air and blocking cool air, has arrived at the start of summer and is expected to persist into next week. Temperatures have already soared to the upper 90s in the central U.S. and are expected to hit the mid-90s in the Northeast by Sunday.
