đź’¨ Abstract
Starting Monday, GPs in England will prescribe Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for weight loss to around 220,000 severely obese patients with additional health issues. This drug, which slows digestion and lowers blood sugar, will be administered through the NHS over three years. While it offers potential benefits, GPs and pharmacists warn of the increased workload and the need for comprehensive weight management strategies, including lifestyle changes, to prevent rebound weight gain.
