💨 Abstract
In the past year, 14% of people surveyed have fallen victim to fraud, losing money. Half of the respondents experienced a fraud attempt in the last three months. There is growing support for tighter online security, with nearly half willing to undergo additional security checks. Most people (78%) want identity verification before accessing their accounts. The UK lost approximately £23.9 billion to fraud and scams last year, the highest in Europe.
