💨 Abstract
Benedict Blythe, a 5-year-old with multiple allergies, died in December 2021 after suffering food-induced anaphylaxis. He collapsed at school after consuming food he had brought from home and initially vomiting. Benedict had known allergies to milk and eggs, and the school had a management plan for his condition. A teacher offered him oat milk, which he refused, leading to him vomiting again and collapsing.
