💨 Abstract
A school in China's Gansu province temporarily closed after over 200 children were found with high blood lead levels. The cause was paint added to food by a cook. The local hospital tested the children, but some parents sought tests elsewhere. The chef had bought the paint online, and tests showed lethal lead amounts. Eight suspects were arrested, and locals suspect a cover-up. China has a history of food safety scandals.
