💨 Abstract
An elderly Malaysian couple was tricked by an AI-generated video into driving three hours to a non-existent tourist spot called 'Kuak Skyride.' Upon arrival, hotel staff informed them it was a fake. Similar scams have duped others, including a man who lost his life savings to a bogus bitcoin investment endorsed by an AI-generated video of Martin Lewis. Lewis has spoken out about the misuse of his reputation in such scams.
