💨 Abstract
The UK government has nationalized the train operator c2c, which runs services between London and Essex. This move is part of the Labour party's scheme to create Great British Railways, aimed at improving service reliability, standardizing costs, and addressing past issues like overcrowding and high fares. Five other companies, including TransPennine Express and LNER, are already managed by the Department for Transport, which now controls 40% of UK rail journeys.
