💨 Abstract
Former Ukrainian prisoner of war Valerii ‘Yarylo’ Horishnii has detailed the horrors he and his comrades faced in Russian detention, including beatings, electric shocks, and watching fellow inmates burnt alive. Horishnii, who was injured and captured during the defense of Mariupol, survived over two years in captivity by relying on love and prayer. He is now rehabilitated and considering returning to active service.
