đ¨ Abstract
In Thirsk, North Yorkshire, volunteers called 'duckies' escort 20 ducks each evening to their nightly roosting spots. This tradition started after four ducks were killed crossing the road. The 'duckies' guide the ducks, place cones around them, and watch until they sleep. The community supports this effort, providing high-vis jackets and refreshments.
