💨 Abstract
The author, at 14, experienced a metallic taste in the mouth, anxiety, déjà vu, and mood swings, all of which were misdiagnosed. After a series of seizures during a holiday in September 2021, she was diagnosed with epilepsy. The diagnosis explained her previous symptoms and led to medication adjustments, which controlled her seizures but caused mood swings and social isolation. She copes through reading, jigsaws, and family support and hopes to inspire others with epilepsy.
