💨 Abstract

Wildfires across Europe, exacerbated by a prolonged heatwave, have produced thick smoke clouds that have drifted thousands of miles, reaching the UK and affecting visibility and air quality. Spain faces one of its worst summers for wildfires in 20 years, with 14 major fires burning over 157,000 hectares, nearly double the annual average, contributing to seven fatalities, including volunteer firefighters.
