💨 Abstract
During a deadly attack on Bondi Beach during a Hanukkah celebration, two gunmen killed at least 16 people and injured several others. A Middle Eastern refugee, who has lived in Australia for a decade but lacks permanent residency, intervened by kicking a rifle out of the attacker's reach. Another hero, Ahmed el Ahmed, a Syrian refugee, wrestled a gun from one of the attackers and was injured in the process.
