💨 Abstract
A meningitis outbreak linked to Club Chemistry in Canterbury has resulted in two deaths and 11 serious illnesses among students. The outbreak began at a Fresher’s event on March 6. The venue was crowded due to a recent fire at a nearby club. Students are anxious, with some leaving Canterbury to avoid infection. Meningitis symptoms can mimic a hangover or flu but can rapidly become life-threatening.
