💨 Abstract
Sarah Power, now 41, learned at 23 that she carries the gene for Huntington’s Disease, a fatal neurodegenerative condition. Her grandmother and father also had the disease. After years of counseling and testing, she decided to live life fully, traveling and starting a family through IVF to avoid passing on the gene. She now has two daughters and hopes for a treatment that could slow the disease's progression, which was recently announced.
