đ¨ Abstract
Amazon will allow authors to offer DRM-free ebooks in EPUB and PDF formats via Kindle Direct Publishing starting January 20, 2026. Authors must opt-in to make their titles available in these formats. Previously published titles won't be affected unless authors update their settings. This change may encourage some authors to apply DRM to their ebooks.
