Deepak Mankar, the Pune city president of the Nationalist Congress Party, resigned on Tuesday amid allegations of forging documents to hide fraudulent financial transactions. He and two others, Raunak Jain and Shantanu Kukde, were booked by the police. Mankar denied the charges, claiming defamation due to political jealousy. The police found suspicious financial activities, including a transfer of Rs 1.18 crore to Mankar’s account.
