India's Alkem Laboratories refuted allegations of substandard quality for its products Pan-D and Clavam 625, as claimed by India's drug regulator. The company stated that the samples in question were counterfeit. The drug regulator had earlier listed more than 50 drugs, including antacids and paracetamol, as not meeting standard quality.
