A five-foot-long male saltwater crocodile was found dead in the Kochia rivulet near Bhitarkanika National Park, Odisha. The crocodile, a protected species under the Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, was retrieved by forest officials and sent for autopsy. The cause of death is suspected to be entanglement in fishing nets due to unlawful fishing activities.
